Mayfair Royal is a turn-key interior design renovation of the multitenant commercial building of the same name. The overall design scheme centered on retaining the original brass finish of the elevator cabs. All other finishes, fixtures, and materials rippled out from this central element. Both public access and back of house areas were addressed; all lobbies, elevators, corridors, stairwells, and restrooms were modernized while still drawing inspiration from the classical forms of the original architecture. Lighting, art, signage, and furniture selections completed the full expression of the client’s desired aesthetic, adding visual interest with metallic accents and playful forms to the otherwise stoic and marble-forward project palette.
