Music is Medicine

 Emory Winship | May Architecture + Interiors | 2015

The Music Is Medicine Collection is a turnkey curation project located at the Emory Winship Cancer Institute which explores the restorative and healing effects of music. For this project I personally recorded As-Builts of Emory Winship’s existing space, reproduced a 3D CAD digital model of the space, and used these drawings for the arrangement of over 100 pieces of priceless memorabilia donated to Emory’s Winship Cancer Institute by illustrious Atlanta entertainment lawyer, Joel A. Katz in concert with the T.J. Martell Foundation.

"This ‘wall’ is all about life and bringing memories to patients from their past and giving them an emotional uplift as they experience their treatment,” said Katz regarding the installation on its opening night.

The Joel A. Katz Music is Medicine Collection is located in the Tunnel Level of the Winship Cancer Institute. The exhibit is open to the public weekdays, 9 am until 5 pm. Don’t forget your headphones!
